the small things matter.
so blog readership has dwindled to an all time low of two readers. =(
but then again, that is not the reason why i write. i write because i want to write.
sometimes we are so pre-occupied with the big picture of things, that we lose sight of the small things in life – we fret and worry about what tomorrow entails, and we miss out on the important things of today. sometimes we ponder and wonder about why things are the way they are, we “mumble and grumble” (quote) about how things should be. but somehow, i was reminded today that the big things are not for us to fret.
51 Joseph named his firstborn Manasseh and said, “It is because God has made me forget all my trouble and all my father’s household.” 52 The second son he named Ephraim and said, “It is because God has made me fruitful in the land of my suffering.” – Genesis 41:51-52
it is funny how only when problems / sufferings come to a close, then one is humbled by all that has been done for his sake. joyful upon the receipt of the gift – definitely. but above and beyond that, one is definitely reminded of how things are out of his hands and to just trust and obey.
but nonetheless, we have to close with the ever funny “Pearls Before Swine”, on how problems can be solved.
